My name is James, I am a CS student at CCCU.

I have become interested in this project, I see a lot of open PRs and issues that need resolving.

What process can I follow to become a maintainer?

I would like to contribute to this project long term, I have 1.5 years experience with rust so am a bit of a Newby, but I fell I can contribute a lot.

At the moment, I've been doing trivial things like focusing on "good first issue" issues, and updating dependencies. But I would like to be more involved in project management in the future, in regard to handling PRs, as there seems to be quite a lot of open ones.

Any tips for places for beginners to start, would be most helpful.
