Il diffère de la pornographiehétérosexuelle, de lapornographie gay ou de lapornographie lesbienne, car la pornographie queer constituera souvent une sorte de partenariat entre les artistes interprètes qui s'étend au-delà des catégories traditionnelles pornographiques[1]. Par exemple, unDVD peut contenir une scène représentant unelesbiennetransgenre avec une femmecisgenre qui s'identifie queer, tandis que la scène suivante peut présenter deuxhommes transgenres qui s'identifient queer[1].
