You did most probably something wrong.

I did a complete clean wipe, install ROM, opengapps nano, osm0sis gcamera and LineageOS SU. What could cause slowness?

I don't know, but especially this ROM works perfect on my device.

Interesting, I'll wait for somebody to release LineageOS 16 before updating again. There's no major differences between Nougat and Oreo that matter to me anyways.

I've reverted back to 14.1 by razorloves for speed. LineageOS 15.1 isn't a huge amount slower than 14.1 but it is noticeable. Hopefully 16 is faster.
You might have to wait for a while. Not sure why, but we only had one initial release of LOS 16, and radio silence ever since.
What I can say is, I was using Unlegacy Android 9 (based on Pie), and I was unsatisfied with how significantly slow and unstable it was. Which is why I made a step back and now I'm using LOS 15.1, which is miles better.
I was thinking about 14.1 too, but I didn't want to give up Oreo's improved battery life, better multiwindow capabilities and autofill (especially great for password manager users).

My /system partition was almost full on 15.1, maybe that was why it was slow?

Partition fullness shouldn't make a difference, Android doesn't write anything to this partition when the system is running, the whole partition is mounted readonly.

Okay... no idea why 15.1 was slow for me then.:confused:

There are three major bugs to note:
1. Bluetooth calls and Discord voice channels over Bluetooth don’t work as expected (distorted sound, can’t hear anything).
2. you can play only one song after rebooting your phone (it may be related to the built-in system libraries because apps like CloudPlayer don’t have such problems when playing music from local storage, presumably because the app uses its own libs) (problem doesn’t affect Apple Music & Spotify).
3. and the third problem is: if you love your keyboard click sounds, you might have to reenable them after every single reboot in Gboard settings (turn off-turn on). Might be conflicting with one of the Magisk modules so I might try disabling some. Also the old versions of Gboard don’t have this bug.
4. Minor problem is the vendor image mismatch, after every reboot you will be reminded you have a vendor image mismatch. You will have to tap OK after every reboot. Google Authenticator might identify your phone as Huawei P20 Pro or something. Doesn’t really affects the Magisk Hide effectiveness.

Can I just dirty flash this over the 13/03 build as if it was an official OTA update? (I have opengapps and rooted with magisk)

Dirty flash worked perfectly. Saved a lot of hassle. Thanks very much for the update. This ROM works perfectly for me. 6 year old Nexus 5 still going strong!

Are you able to send video (especially long video) with Whatsapp?

I don't know, it's not really something I do, although I do use Whatsapp and everything seems fine. I'll try and get round to testing a video send.

    New drop. Everything done by amaces and razorloves as mentioned previously. Send them paypal money or something.

    He actually released 8.1 Unlegacy this morning, just rebuilt Lineage with his sources.

    I had to disable NFC service because it wasn't doing proper things. I think unlegacy may have it working, if it's important for your workflow.

    Torch and data now work.
