I just got my new Renault Rafale E-tech and when I try to install Sideload apps on Renault OpenR Link i get a message saying my user is unable to install from unknown sources. Does anybody know how to solve this problem so that I can install for example Waze on my openR Link?
Yes, I had the exact same problem.

I Have same problem now, I have a Renault Scenic Etech, with some applications installed with this method, before I could do it, but this past week they have updated the system to OpenR Link 3.1.3 and now I get that message saying that my user does not have permissions.

Same situation here with Media Nav Live on Duster 3.
If someone found a way let me know

Have you tried anexplorer file manager directly available on playstore? The file manager can be used to install APK files.

Media Nav Live (Duster 3) don't have Google Play Store on it, only a dedidacted store with fwe apps (HERE, Spotify, Deezer)

I'm able to access integrated file manager through System > Storage but i got a message when I try to install APK "This account don't have permission to install APK from unknow sources" something like that

The version we have here doen't have google services support.
So the screen is only used to customize the car features. Even connecting it to a hotspot is useless.

Bottom line; I don't have google play to try that unfortunately. And the built in file explorer always show "Unknown apps can't be installed by this user."

Renault Austral 2025. I don't have the version of the Open R link now because I'm not near the car.

I just found that it is possible to install apk from a USB drive on OpenR.
With the latest version 2.1.2 there is added Files application, that can browse files on attached drive and i was suprised that it can install apps too.
    So you need:
    1. Firmware version 2.1.x
    2. FAT32 formatted USB drive
    3. Download apk file (nodpi version) from official site, github or from some miror sites
    4. Copy the file to the USB and plug it
    5. Open Files application and navigate to USB drive in the menu on the left. If you can't see it, try to enable/disable "show internal storage" option, it should display it along with attached USB drive
    6. Select the APK file and click - it will display consideration dialog, just click to forward and that's all , the app should be displayed on the list.

PLEASE NOTE - you do all this at your own risk! Sharing this info i'm not responsible to any damage that may occur. If you aren't sure of the consequences, just don't do this!
