I have a proplem with facebook Launcher. On the Startscreen the navbar overlays the Icons in the dock. Is there a possipility to scale the app. Or something like this?

Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Maybe there is a rom that offers per app DPI like PA, look in the development section bro;) Or look at Xposed if they have something similar to change the DPI..

Have you tried JetAudio plus? it enables you to chose what folders to play from. Good sound quality/20 bands EQ, Wide effect, supports many formats.
Yes I also tried this player. Even if I select my podcasts folder JetAudio tells me that there's no music file...

Is there a way to hide the message previews from whatsapp, BBM and Hangouts in the notification bar ??

Instead of showing the message text, can I some how just show how many messages are there from how many users?? Used to happen in 2.3.5 by defaut, cant seem to get it done here..

Use this xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2554049

Backup your apps with helium. Unlocking the bootloader will wipe your device, rooting won't. So if you've already unlocked your device you're golden. If you haven't, well then you're not.

No need for unlocking/rooting device to backup your apps and data apps,
you have a Nexus device sir.

it is good to learn something
do it with adb commands.

be sure that you have adb file installed (you can install android sdk)
connect your phone to pc with "android debug" enabled in developer options
open a cmd line where adb file is present and type:
Code:
adb devicesadb backup -apk -noshared -all -nosystem
accept backup within your device screen
this will backup your apps and their data to the pc (a "backup.ab" file is created)

to restore, connect your device with adb debug enabled, open cmd line where "backup.ab" file is located and type:
Code:
adb devicesadb restore backup.ab
accept restore process within your device screen

to backup your internal sd card, type:
Code:
adb devicesadb pull /sdcard/ /sdcard/
to restore:
Code:
adb devicesadb push sdcard /sdcard/

Hi all,

My nexus 5 doesn't charge and turn on. I waked up on Saturday morning and realized that it was off. actually it shouldn't because battery was ok at previous night. I plugged it to the power adapter but there were no sing on screen. I charged it 7-8 hours but no change. I tried different boot options, nothing happened. I tried
- push power almost a minute while charging
- push power almost a minute without charging
- push volume down first, power second and hold a minute while charging
- push volume down first, power second and hold a minute without charging

I was planing but didn't root it yet.

so I don't know what is my next move. Because I bought it from Google play, with the help of a friend lives in US. I live in Turkey I am not sure what to do know. I am really frustrated. What do you recommend?

Do you use the original cable and charger? Did you try a data factory reset in settings/backup and restore/reset to factory settings? If nothing works i`am afraid you have to send it back to the US and have your friends request a RMA witth Google which they can send to you.

No, i didn't try data factory reset.
Because of different wall AC plug types, I used old original Htc Wildfire s cable and charger at home and original Nexus cable+pc at work. I avoided all no name cables and chargers.
My friend is still here, she'll back soon to US. She can take it back for RMA but she cannot send it to me back, because of the duty/tax problem at border. Can she ask for money back if the product is defective?

I wish I was asking questions about rooting or something similar...

Don`t know, if she contacts Google she will hear if the phone can be refunded. Good luck mate

Rooting and unlocking has zero effect on battery life.
