Investment strategy

Astrategy, or plan of attack, aninvestor uses when deciding how to allocatecapital among several options includingstocks,bonds,cash equivalents,commodities, andreal estate. The strategy should take into account theinvestor's tolerance for risk as well as future needs forcapital.

Investment Philosophy

Basic standards and beliefs guiding one'sinvesting practices. Factors influencing one's investment philosophy includerisk tolerance, investment goals, and personal beliefs about what guidesmarkets. Investment philosophies may vary widely from each other. For example, when investing insecurities, oneinvestor may usetechnical analysis, which utilizes statistical information exclusively, while another may usefundamental analysis, which uses both quantitative and qualitative information.
