Some senses ofpara, such as 'in order to', introduce a subordinate clause. When this clause begins with a personal pronoun, some Brazilian speakers use a prepositional pronoun instead of a nominative one:

Instead of the standard:

Literally,“I-bought a cake for I to-eat.”
