I'm not sure whether "dodo" (child language) should be viewed as an adverb or a noun. The literal translation of DutchWil je dodo doen? isDo you want to do "dodo"?, which hints at "dodo" being an adverb. But I'm absolutely unsure about this.D.D. 20:53 May 30, 2003 (UTC)

Wil je slaperig doen? (an adverb)Ben je slaperig? is a better example. (Are you sleepy?)

Thanks for the examples, Polyglot. I agree that the third one (Ben je slaperig?) comes closest toWil je dodo doen, but I haven't been able to find an "adult" version ofdodo. However, it seems that the word is classified as a noun in French. ThePetit Robert gives the example ofaller au dodo, sole dodo must exist (even if it's only in the contraction ofa le = au). What about Flemish? AFAIKde dodo doesn't exist. On the other hand, Flemish took this word from French, so it seems to me that it should be classified as a noun too. Just out of curiosity: do you know of any Dutch/Flemish nouns that cannot be preceded by an article?D.D. 20:06 Jun 7, 2003 (UTC)
