  • The spellingIslāmic is far less common thanIslamic; however, some scholars assert that it implies a more correct pronunciation (with a long ‘ā’:[ɑː], as opposed to a short ‘a’: as[æ]). It is standard in the publications ofThe Muslim Education Trust; as, for example, in the1998 [5th Ed.] publication ofIslām: Beliefs and Teachings, by Ghulam Sarwar (ISBN: 0–907261–03–5).
