Zhong Naixiong (Chinese:钟乃雄; born November 1963) is a Chinese entrepreneur and billionaire. He is the founder and chairman ofNenking Group, a conglomerate based inFoshan,Guangdong.

Zhong keeps a low profile in his daily life, but is keen on developing sport culture career, hisNenking Group has owned and run its ownCBA teamGuangzhou Long-Lions since 2010, and has title-sponsorsedHong Kong "Eastern Sports Club", including "Eastern Football Team" and "Eastern Basketball Team" since 2016. In 2018, he decided to step inesports, organizing anOverwatch League team named the "Guangzhou Charge".

Early life

In 1963, Zhong Naixiong was born inHuazhou,Maoming,Guangdong Province,China. After graduating fromJinan University, he had worked for "The People's Insurance Company (Group) of China" and "Ping An Insurance Company of China".[1]

Entrepreneurship

In 1993, Zhong founded Guangdong Nenking Real Estate Development Co., Ltd founded. It was the predecessor ofNenking Group.[2] On 28 March 1998, Zhong foundedNenking Holdings Group Co., Ltd.[3][4]

Sports

Zhong is keen on sports, especially basketball. In 2010, Zhong acquiredShaanxi men's basketball club and named it the "Long-Lions", starting stepping in Sport Culture.[5][6]

In 2016, acting as thewhite knight, Zhong poured around 30 millionHK$ intoHong Kong "Eastern Sport Club" which was facing a financial crisis.[7] As a result, Nenking got the title sponsorship of "Eastern Sports Club", including "Eastern Football Team" and "Eastern Basketball Team".[8]

In 2018, Zhong started stepping inesports. Nenking got theGuangzhou franchise of theOverwatch League and organized an OWL team forGuangzhou.[9] This investment of Zhong was considered as a milestone of Chinaesports' professionalization and commercialization.[10][11] The team is lately named as the "Guangzhou Charge".[12]

Social activity

In June 2009, Zhong donatedCN¥ 1 million to his alma mater,Jinan University, for graduation ceremony innovation, mace manufacture and so on.[13]
