TheZhengzhou Open was a tournament for professional femaletennis players played on outdoorhardcourts. The event was held inZhengzhou, China, since 2014 as an ITF and then as aWTA 125 tournament in 2017 and 2018.Subsequently, it was upgraded and from 2019 onward was classified as aWTA Premier level tournament, replacing theConnecticut Open in the United States. After a three-year hiatus, the tournament returned in 2023 for one year as aWTA 500 event.
In 2024, WTA announced that this WTA 500 event hasmoved to Ningbo.[1]
