Zhangbei County (simplified Chinese:张北县;traditional Chinese:張北縣;pinyin:Zhāngběi Xiàn), in northwesternHebei province, China, is a county formerly in theChahar province. Its name, which literally means "North of Zhang[jiakou]", derives from the fact that it is 40 km (25 mi) north-northeast ofZhangjiakou.Zhangbei Town is the seat of the county government.
