Zachary Adam Gordon (born February 15, 1998) is an American actor. He played the lead role ofGreg Heffley in theDiary of a Wimpy Kid film series (2010–2012), which earned him nominations for aKids' Choice Award and sevenYoung Artist Awards. His other lead film roles includeHuevos: Little Rooster's Egg-cellent Adventure (2016) andDreamcatcher (2021). He has had supporting roles in films such asGeorgia Rule (2007),Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008),The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2013),American Pie Presents: Girls' Rules (2020), andViolet (2021).
In television, Gordon had a lead voice role as Gil on theNickelodeon seriesBubble Guppies (2011–2013). His live-action recurring roles include Jason Cohen on theFreeform seriesDead of Summer (2016), and Tate Wilson on the Freeform drama seriesGood Trouble (2019–2020).
Gordon was born inOak Park, California, to Linda and Kenneth Gordon.[1] He has two older brothers and was raised inSouthern California.[2][3][4] Gordon graduated fromOak Park High School in his hometown.[1][5][6] He isJewish, with his grandparents having survivedthe Holocaust.[7][8]
In May 2023, Gordon lost his voice due to torn muscles in his throat, causing his acting career to be put on hold.[9][10]
Gordon has made multiple television appearances onHow I Met Your Mother andAll of Us.[11] He also appeared in the 2008 pilot ofDesperate Housewives, plus two other episodes, and in two episodes of24 that aired in January 2009. Gordon appeared in three episodes as a guest star onLast Man Standing, where he played Mike Baxter's daughter's boyfriend.
Gordon's film credits includeSex and Death 101,Lower Learning, theGarry Marshall filmGeorgia Rule (for which he won theYoung Artist Award for his portrayal of Ethan),The Brothers Bloom, as young Bloom, and inNational Treasure: Book of Secrets.
Gordon has been credited with voice over roles including Brad Spolyt inThe Chubbchubbs Save Xmas, Ricky Garcia inProject Gilroy, San San inNick Jr.'sNi Hao, Kai-Lan andThe Mighty B! He was a series regular as the original voice of Gil in the Nickelodeon seriesBubble Guppies.
Gordon had voice cameo roles asBaby Melman in the animated filmMadagascar: Escape 2 Africa, Kotaro inAfro Samurai: Resurrection, and youngTony Stark inThe Super Hero Squad Show. In 2010, he playedGreg Heffley in the filmDiary of a Wimpy Kid. In 2011, he voiced Papi Jr. inBeverly Hills Chihuahua 2 and as Paws in Disney'sThe Search for Santa Paws.

In June 2010,20th Century Fox announced a sequel toDiary of a Wimpy Kid; Gordon returned as Greg Heffley and the film,Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, was released on March 25, 2011.[12]
In 2011, Gordon provided voices forCharlie Brown,Linus, andFranklin on the comedy showRobot Chicken,[13] and in 2012, he reprised the role of Greg Heffley inDiary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days. In the fourth film,Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, he was replaced byJason Drucker. In October 2013, Gordon was chosen to host a miniseries for Nintendo, titledSkylander's Boomcast, on YouTube channel SkylandersGame, reviewing and talking about the video game seriesSkylanders.[14] In April 2023, it was announced Gordon would be the new voice ofTighnari inGenshin Impact, replacing Elliot Gindi.[15]
Additional films for 2013 includedThe Incredible Burt Wonderstone and a role as Pete Kidder in Walden Media's and Hallmark Channel'sPete's Christmas.[16]
