Canadian film and television director (born 1955)
Yves Simoneau (French pronunciation:[ivsimɔno]; born October 28, 1955) is aCanadianfilm andtelevision director.
Simoneau was born inQuebec City,Quebec.
His acclaimed 1986 crime dramaIntimate Power (Pouvoir intime) garnered multipleGenie Awards nominations including best direction at the8th Genie Awards. His 1987 filmLes fous de bassan was entered into the37th Berlin International Film Festival.[1]
In 2007 he directed the MovieBury My Heart at Wounded Knee. It received 17Emmy Award nominations, the most of any show atThe 59th Emmy Awards held in September 2007. It went on to win five awards including the Emmy forOutstanding Made For Television Movie.[2]
