Ye-One Rhie (born 1987) is a German politician of Korean descent[1][2] who was elected as a member of theBundestag at the2021 German federal election, on the SPD party list forNorth Rhine-Westphalia,[3] and served until the2025 election.
Rhie was born inAachen toSouth Korean parents. She studiedpolitical science andcommunication studies atRWTH Aachen University from 2006 to 2012.[4]
Rhie began her professional career at theBertelsmann Foundation inGütersloh in 2013. From 2015 until 2021, she worked as an advisor at the State Ministry on Innovation, Science and Research inDüsseldorf.[4]
Since 2014, Rhie has been a member of the City Council of Aachen.
Rhie was elected to theBundestag in the2021 German federal election.[3] In parliament, she has since been serving on the Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment.[4]
In addition to her committee assignments, Rhie is part of the German Parliamentary Friendship Group for Relations withBenelux.
Rhie shares an apartment with fellow parliamentariansLena Werner andBrian Nickholz[7] in theMoabit district of Berlin.[8]
