Yang Zhaoxuan (Chinese :杨钊煊 ;pinyin :Yáng Zhāoxuān ;Mandarin pronunciation: [jǎŋ ʈʂáʊ ɕɥɛ́n] ; born 11 February 1995) is a Chinesetennis player.She reached her career-highWTA doubles ranking of No. 9 on 30 January 2023.
Yang has won seven doubles titles on theWTA Tour and oneWTA Challenger doubles title. In September 2015, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 151. In addition, she has won three singles and twelve doubles titles on theITF Circuit .
2014: WTA Tour debut [ edit ] Yang made herWTA Tour debut at the2014 Shenzhen Open , partneringYe Qiuyu indoubles .[ 1] The pair lost their first-round match against third seedsIrina Buryachok andOksana Kalashnikova .[ 1]
2017: First WTA 1000 final [ edit ] AlongsideShuko Aoyama , she reached the final of theWuhan Open [ 2] which they lost toLatisha Chan andMartina Hingis .[ 3] At theWTA Elite Trophy , she lost both matches in the round-robin stage together withHan Xinyun .[ 4] [ 5]
2018: First major doubles semifinal [ edit ] At theFrench Open , Yang alongsideChan Hao-ching reached her firstmajor semifinal but then lost toEri Hozumi andMakoto Ninomiya .[ 6]
2019: Mixed doubles semifinal [ edit ] At theWimbledon Championships , she reached the round of the last four inmixed doubles alongsideMatwé Middelkoop , after overcoming the top-seeded couple ofNicole Melichar andBruno Soares .[ 7] They lost their semifinal match toJeļena Ostapenko andRobert Lindstedt .[ 8]
2021: Second WTA 1000 final [ edit ] In March, Yang reached the final of theDubai Tennis Championships along withXu Yifan but they were defeatet byAlexa Guarachi andDarija Jurak .[ 9]
2022: WTA 1000 doubles title and WTA Finals [ edit ] At the WTA 1000Indian Wells Open , she won the biggest title of her career in doubles withXu Yifan .[ 10] They also took the title at theSilicon Valley Classic [ 11] She qualified for the2022 WTA Finals with partner Yifan.[ 12]
2023: Top 10 debut, major quarterfinal[ edit ] She reached her first Grand Slam tournament quarterfinal outside of Paris at theAustralian Open , partnering withChan Hao-ching .As a result, she recorded a new career-high ranking of world No. 9, on 30 January 2023.
