Yan'an Nanniwan Airport (IATA:ENY,ICAO:ZLYA) is a dual-use military and public airport serving the city ofYan'an in northernShaanxi Province. It is located in Liulin Town (柳林),Baota District, 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) southwest of the city center.[1]
Yan'an was formerly served byYan'an Ershilipu Airport. In 2002, the Yan'an city government proposed the construction of a new airport to replace Ershilipu and it was approved by the Chinese national government in 2009.[2] Nanniwan Airport was opened on 8 November 2018 with an inauguralChina Eastern Airlines flight fromHangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, and all civil flights were transferred to Nanniwan from Ershilipu Airport.[1]
Nanniwan Airport has a runway that is 3,000 metres (9,800 ft) long and 60 metres (200 ft) wide (class 4C), a 13,000 square metres (140,000 sq ft) terminal building, and seven aircraft parking aprons. It is projected to serve 1 million passengers and 800 tons of cargo annually by 2020.[2]
