TheYamaha Montage (stylized asMONTAGE) is a series ofmusical synthesizers produced byYamaha Corporation. First introduced in June 2016, it replaced theYamaha Motif.
The original MONTAGE was released in 3 versions having 61-key FSX action MONTAGE6, 76-key FSX action MONTAGE7 and 88-key with Balanced Hammer Standard (BHS) keyboard action MONTAGE 8 in 2016.
Compared to the Motif series, the preset wave ROM is increased to 5.67 GBytes and user ROM to 1.75 GBytes.
FM-X sound engine, a 8-operator FM synthesis engine, similar to Yamaha FS1R but without formant shaping, has a polyphony of 128 voices.[2][3][4][5][6]

Compared to the original MONTAGE, the preset wave ROM is 5.67 GBytes and user ROM is 1.00 GBytes which is less than MONTAGE.
FM-X sound engines, half of user sample ROM, 4 knobs and sliders instead of 8, seamless switching for 4-part programs, and fewer buttons.

The newer MONTAGE M was released in three versions having 61-key FSX action MONTAGE M6, 76-key FSX action MONTAGE M7 and 88-key with new GEK action MONTAGE M8x in 2023. The GEX balanced hammer keyboard action supports polyphonic aftertouch, implemented with Hall sensors.
AWM2 polyphony is increased to 128+128 notes for preset user data and user wave data.
Compared to the original MONTAGE, preset wave ROM is increased to 10.2 GBytes (compressed with LPC-derived algorithm) and user ROM to 3.75 GBytes.
