Wuzhou Xijiang Airport (IATA:WUZ,ICAO:ZGWZ) is an airport serving the city ofWuzhou inGuangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. It is located south of theXijiang river in the town of Tangbu inTeng County, 20 kilometres (12 mi) from the city center.[2]
The airport received approval from theState Council of China on 29 June 2014.[1] Construction began in 2016 and the airport was opened on 23 January 2019, replacing the olderWuzhou Changzhoudao Airport. The airport cost 1.765 billion yuan to build.[2]
The airport has a 2,600-metre (8,500 ft) runway (class 4C) and an 8,000-square-metre (86,000 sq ft) terminal building. It is projected to handle 750,000 passengers and 6,000 tons of cargo annually by 2025.[1][2]
