Willie Miles Harper (born July 30, 1950) is an American former professionalfootball player who was alinebacker for theSan Francisco 49ers of theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football for theNebraska Cornhuskers, twice earning consensusAll-American honors. Harper wonSuper Bowl XVI with the 49ers during the1981 season. He also played in theUnited States Football League (USFL).

Harper played high school football forToledo Scott and attended theUniversity of Nebraska, where he was anAll-American in 1972 and was drafted in the second round of the1973 NFL draft by the 49ers, who he stayed with for eleven years, from 1973 to 1983.[1] He moved to theUSFL in 1984 to play for theNew Jersey Generals. He finished his career with theHouston Gamblers in 1985.

His son,Josh Harper, played college football atFresno State University.[2] His granddaughter is rapperSaweetie.[3][4]
