TheWilliam Sloane House (also known as theWilliam and Frances Crocker Sloane House) is amansion located on 686Park Avenue between 68th and 69th Streets on theUpper East Side ofManhattan inNew York City.
It was constructed for the industrialist William Sloane and his wife Frances Crocker Sloane in 1919 byDelano & Aldrich in theColonial Revival style as one of thePark Avenue Houses.[2]
The building, with the adjacent690 Park Avenue, is currently owned by theRepublic of Italy and home to theItalian Cultural Institute.
The House became aNew York City designated landmark in 1970 and is listed on theNational Register of Historic Places as part of the Park Avenue Houses.
