William Bradshaw AmosFRS (born 1945)[1][2] is a Britishbiologist, Emeritus Scientist at theMedical Research Council (MRC)Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB).[3] He led a team that developed the mesolens, amicroscope with a giant lens.[4][5][6]
Amos was educated atKing Edward VII School, Sheffield[1] and graduated fromUniversity of Oxford with aBachelor of Arts degree in 1966, and fromUniversity of Cambridge with aPhD in 1970.[7]
Amos was research assistant from 1966 to 1967, research student from 1967 to 1970, andresearch fellow from 1970 to 1974 atKing's College, Cambridge. He taught at the department of zoology, Cambridge, from 1973 to 1978.[1]
