Having worked for 2 years editing articles for Women In Red, a group of organizers have concluded that sourcing is one of the biggest hurdles in creating articles on women and non-binary genders. Though it is true that a lot of sourcing simply doesn’t exist, it is also true that there are sources, but we have no access to them. As these groups did not typically become subjects for academic study until the 1970s, many of the sources are not on line or are behind paywalls. Failure to include women and non-binary people in the encyclopedia presents a one-dimensional view of society and history. To address those issues, we are forming a new User Group aimed at referencing and support for like-minded groups and would appreciate your input or input from your supporters in our organizational process. Can someone please add reliable sources, or links?Bearian (talk)02:46, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As I was digging around for sources for updatingSports in Pennsylvania, I noticed that a bunch of the Pittsburgh reporting happened aroundNational Girls and Women in Sports Day. Is anybody interested in helping to organize an edit-a-thon during the first week in February 2026? I am very new to editing Wikipedia and am not sure what all is involved (reading throughHow to run an Edit-a-thon).Chromedial (talk)16:03, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Canadian female sprinters has been nominated for possible deletion, merging, or renaming. A discussion is taking place to decide whether it complies with thecategorization guidelines. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments atthe category's entry on thecategories for discussion page. Thank you.
To expand on that templated message: 4,256 categories have been proposed to be moved from titles using "female" to "women" (and in a few cases "male" to "men"), thus fromCategory:Canadian female sprinters toCategory:Canadian women sprinters (the initial proposal was "women's", as inCategory:Canadian women's sprinters, but the nominator has changed their suggestion.)
The discussion is atWikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2025 October 1#Category:Canadian female sprinters.PamD20:27, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I was wondering whether it's within this project's scope to try to add more photos of women to the main article pages on sports. For example,Football,Association football,Rugby union,Rugby league,Cricket, and many more have pretty much exclusively photos of men, which presents a one-dimensional view of sports. This is my first time interacting with a WikiProject so please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong.lp0 on fire (talk)09:46, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
