Changing Okinawan topics to use non-standard Okinawan romanizations
ぽんぽこウィッチ (talk·contribs) has been changing hundreds and hundreds of Okinawa-related articles to delete all Japanese romanizations of Okinawan words and substitute a non-standard Okinawan form instead. I need assistance figuring out how to write out this name: "サワディ大塚". I usually see it translate as Sawasdee Otsuka, but it sometimes translates differently. Agreed, a fake name. I usually see Sawasdee spelled as Sawadee. When I hear Thai people say it, I don't hear that middle 's', so I spell it without the middle 's'. Without an official English rendering of the name it becomes a bit more difficult (aka, do they have a book published in English?).
However, Wikiproject Japan's policy for romanizing non-Japanese words that were written in Japanese is to write it as that word rather than to romanize it to be faithful to the Japanese pronunciation. So, going by that policy, Sawasdee Otsuka would be correct (again, assuming we're certain it's meant to be the word sawasdee, I know nothing about this author).
This might get even more complicated when the word is another word that requires romanization using a different system, but if "sawasdee" is the standard romanization for that word, then that's what I'd go with.

Hi, I was looking at the article forSaeko (actress) and am currently drafting an article on her son, Ren, who uses their last name "道休". Saeko's infobox, before I pasted it onto the lead, had it spelled as "Dokyū". Ren's Instagram page has it as "Dokyu". I've also seen it as "Dōkyū" and "Dôkyû". @Reppop: "道休" is pronounced with a long "o" and a long "u", which with Hepburn romaji rules would be written as "Dōkyū" (seeMOS:ROMAJIGUIDE). However,WP:JTITLE says that for Japanese names we should prefer the form used personally/professionally by the person, which would be "Dokyu" as per Ren's Instagram page. Either way, I am working onGender-critical feminism by country#Japan and came across this organization 女性スペースを守る会 (Japanese wikijp:女性スペースを守る会). I am not sure the best way to translate this organization's name into English, as it doesn't seem to have been mentioned in any English-language media. I do not read Japanese, so I have been relying on machine-translation, which has given me things like "Society to Defend Women’s Spaces", "Association to Protect Women’s Spaces".
