• This purpose of this project is to standardize the coverage of American television series, channels, networks and stations within Wikipedia. This includes deciding how pages should be formatted, which pages should and should not be created, designing templates, etc. This project is not yet completely defined, so feel free to make suggestions on the talk page.

Any articles that are within the scope of this project should be tagged with{{WikiProject United States|class=|importance=|USTV=yes|USTV-importance=}} banner. The resulting article ratings are used within the project to help in recognizing excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work. They also play a role in theWP:1.0 program, which the WikiProject uses to help automate some of the assessing process.
