Hello and welcome toWikiProject Cyprus, aWikiProject designed to make collaboration and improvement of articles related toCyprus andCypriots easier and more effective. This page and its subpages contain the suggestions of Wikipedians who are interested or have made substantial contributions to articles related to Cyprus; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. WikiProject Cyprus came into being onJuly 232006, when a group ofWikipedians realized that they had the opportunity to collaborate in a more organized and effective way on articles pertaining toCyprus andCypriots. However, participation is not only limited to Cypriots; Wikipedians of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are more than welcome to participate. This Wikiproject is here to expand any current and future Cyprus related articles, and to also bring articles within the scope of this Wikiproject to a better quality level.

Adopt an article

Similar to theCollaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles WP:CYP has produced.

While many were written by members—sometimes with input from the project as a whole—others were created by uninvolved editors, or predate the existence of the project itself, and are listed here merely because they fall within our scope.

TheWikiProject Cyprus Barnstar is the project's official award, to be bestowed on anyone who has made significant contributions to Wikipedia's coverage of Cyprus-related articles or to the project itself. It may be awarded by any user, and project members are encouraged to use it to recognize the outstanding work of others.

All people, places and historical/cultural names found on this list relate to Cyprus, but currently do not have a Wikipedia article, you can help by making one.
