Delete; the near entirety of the target page's title exists in the start of the title of this redirect; on the off chance that someone types in the former they're gonna be autocompleted to the latter fairly quickly. Submission toWP:DAFT, I'm not entirely sure about; doesn't feel freakyenough?𝔏𝔲𝔫𝔞𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔫🌙🌙🌙 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔐𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔫𝔦𝔢𝔰𝔱 (talk)23:59, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Unmentioned species bundle. People who search for any of these species already know what the genus is (the first word), yet none of the individual species are mentioned at the target page. With no content to speak of, the existence of these redirects leaves readers with the interpretation that we have dedicated content for them, when we do not.Utopes(talk /cont)17:13, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As the person who spent months doing the very tiresome task of categorisingall the Chlaenius redirects and retargeting them to the minimally usefulList of Chlaenius species, I obviously supportdeleting all the listed redirects. I had performed simple Google Search+Google Scholar searches for every single species, and in most cases I couldn't any meaningful result other thaniNaturalist entries and the like and Wikipedia mirrors.Dsuke1998AEOS (talk)02:57, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for your efforts in this, it is by no means an easy task, and this is gonna help us all in the long run to ensure that the Chlaenius species are properly handled. There's like... 800 more of these 😭Utopes(talk /cont)05:55, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
(Delete) I wonder if once we get the precendent here we can mass-delete them. A bot could search forChlaenius in the title and the redirecting string in the text. That's probably relatively easy to program if you know how to write bots.Cremastra (talk·contribs)07:15, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the other redirects, it is a complicated issue. At the time I was doing the categorization, I was not aware of theNSPECIES guideline, and also only started using Google Books for the very last uncategorized redirects. This means that, while every redirect tagged with{{R animal with possibilities}} is eligible for deletion under RETURNTORED, not every redirect without that rcat should necessarily be kept. We can just ignore them and pretend that they do not exist, or we can assume all the Chlaenius species are automatically notable and then nominate all the redirects in batches of 20 or more... Or, I can revisit all my categorizations (sigh!) and let the RfD work for someone else.Dsuke1998AEOS (talk)00:36, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It would be nice to get a precedent that would make an admin feel comfortable mass-deleting without needing to initiate a formal deletion process, but I guess the days on Wikipedia are long gone when admins could act like that. I'm responsible for placing{{R animal with possibilities}} (and{{R taxon with possibilities}} on many articles, but I certainly haven't made the effort to do that for all the areas I am aware of where where species redirects were generated in mass. TheChlaenius species redirects seem to have all been created as articles, and were redirected byUser:Stemonitis. As articles, they were very short and didn't provide any useful information. Stemonitis was an admin, and I think at one point they had just been straight up deleting species substubs, but they were admonished for that and switched to making species substubs into redirects instead. Stemonitis is reponsible for thousands of species redirects, with a lot of activity in 2011 (but possibly some other time periods as well). Off the top of my headList of whitefly species andList of Carex species are two pages with a lot of redirects that were converted from articles by Stemonitis.

Delete. People who search for "hey now" x2 will be confused when they end up in a location where it's not discussed. Wikipedia is not a lyric database, and people will be left stranded when they search for lyrics on this site, as there is a 0% chance they will arrive at the correct location due to there being infinite combinations of song lyrics. If a lyric is special enough to be discussed at a talk page, then the "lyric" is actually a subject and there is somewhere for searchers to land. In the meantime, it's not worth creating lyric redirects just based on the existence of a lyric. That is Google's job to tell people what song a lyric comes from, not ours.Utopes(talk /cont)16:06, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Delete as too ambiguous for something unmentioned. While the Crowded House lyric is the first few results in my personalised Google results this song is one I have listened to many times and search results are likely to be biased. Before we get to the end of the first page though there are unrelated results for other things including a (non-notable) song actually called "Hey Now Hey Now", a podcast and a radio show. I will also see what results I get using DuckDuckGo on Tor when I manage to get a connection.Thryduulf (talk)12:36, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well DDG only found 13 results for the exact phrase, 9 of which were related to the Crowded House song (and none just a simple listing of lyrics) 4 were not. That's not evidence that supports this being a useful redirect.Thryduulf (talk)12:57, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with the notion that it's an "incorrect name" and/or "added in error". Seems to be picked up in reliable sources (BBC example) that this person is credited for the whispering voice during an instrumental portion of the song. A sourced mention could plausibly be added to the article, but the way the article is constructed now, I'm not sure the most appropriate way or spot to do so immediately, or I would've done it myself.Left guide (talk)15:05, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Delete - even a mention would be trivial. AtBoys Don't Cry (band) § Origin of name, there is a Chicago Tribune reference, but it requires subscription, so I don't know what it says. The BBC source says her name is Cathy, and the married name Warren came later. On enwiki, this name is associated more with a heptathlon athlete. Jay 💬15:11, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Comment looks like the town of Fort Ashby was named Frankfort when it was created and still part of Virginia (pre-Civil War). Maybe tag with{{R from former name}} but I'm not sure if we have similar redirects for towns in WV that predate the split.Skynxnex (talk)18:59, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The name "Frankfort, Virginia" comes from a 1932 source referring to an incident in 1931. The redirect was apparaently created because there does not appear to be a Frankfort, Virginia, and someone assumed the source must have meant Frankfort, West Virginia. I tried to provide more detailhere, but was reverted. In any case, I think this redirect is the wrong way to deal with the problem.Donald Albury19:17, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Continuing on what Skynxnex said, the creator had added this explanatory note atanother article he created:The post office for Fort Ashby, West Virginia, was established in 1800 as Frankfort, which it was named at the time of Armstrong's birth,[3] and it was subsequently renamed Alaska in 1881 and Fort Ashby in 1932.[4] Fort Ashby was located in the U.S. state of Virginia until West Virginia's creation in 1863, ...[4] The redirect would be valid for events or place of birth links of 63 years. Jay 💬08:45, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The redirect appears to be valid in some cases, but not for its use in an article referring to an event in Frankfort, Virginia in 1931.Donald Albury13:18, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Weak keep. My google results show that molotov cocktails and similar improvised weapons is one of the correct targets, the other being some sort of fishing weight that I can't find any relevant content on, making this unambiguous in practice.Thryduulf (talk)10:23, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Keep and hatnote per Jay orDAB.Bottle bomb is listed atMolotov cocktail § Etymology § Synonyms and nicknames. The lead mentions that there are several other names and points to § Etymology, rather than list all the bolded synonyms, which may satisfy concerns about prominent mention.Britannica also lists this as a synonym. However, I did also find pretty mixed usage online, with more references to other types of homemade bombs, includingdry ice bombs but not exclusively. If DAB'd we should also look athomemade chemical bomb which currently redirects toImprovised explosive device, which doesn't seem quite right. (If not DABing, would look at that in a separate RfD.) --MYCETEAE 🍄🟫—talk17:09, 10 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Unlike the other redirect I can't see any plausibility for a retarget because of the capitalization and length; this use is certainly not notable itself.Nathannah •📮23:11, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Delete - I see multiple "The Igloo Company" results in an external search. Unclear why it should refer toIgloo Inc. (a redirect) which was the name mentioned in the target prior to the edit war. Not mentioned in the respective article, nor mentioned in the section the redirect specifically targets. Also, this feels like a weird redirect in general, considering that "Triple Baka" is a song with three different characters in it, not just Kasane Teto. They aren't even the primary character performing the song. Suggest an outright deletion.λNegativeMP101:42, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
