The result of the discussion waskeep and retarget.
RetargetWT:SD to matchWP:SD.Oppose disambiguation - SD is a well-used shortcut and disambiguation will break it for everybody with virtually no benefit. Hatnotes can adequately cater for anyone who visits the wrong location.Thryduulf (talk)14:34, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion wasno consensus. There was both support and opposition to retargeting to List of police-related slang terms. One suggestion was to refine to the Gameplay section and hatnote from there. Jay 💬15:52, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
similarly to doom not actually having invented demons or shotguns, duke nukem 3d didn't invent the concept of comparing american police to raw bacon. they're also a recurring enemy in the series, so it would probably be better off retargeted to the series' article anywaycogsan(nag me)(stalk me)12:03, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Delete - Redirecting to PRST makes no sense here as the slang term is just "pig". While pig cops are a common enemy inDuke Nukem, they're just one of a multitude of enemies designed based off of the slang (another example being literal pig cops inPizza Tower) and so the term is too ambiguous to justify a redirect nowadays. —Jéské Courianov^_^vthreadscritiques23:53, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i thought more as in "that'd be a disambiguator without the parentheses", and it seems at least commonly used enough to warrant not banishing the redirect to brazil, but fair enough
"Pig" and "cop" are slang terms for a police officer. "Pig cop" is not. "Pig cop" is a kind of enemy inDuke Nukem 3D. Google shows that as the primary topic, with secondary usage to refer to various pigs in cop outfits; I'm sure there's some usage as a compound pejorative, but nothing of note. That said, there's still potential ambiguity, soRefine to§ Gameplay and hatnote toList of police-related slang terms § Pig (an anchor I've just created). --Tamzin[cetacean needed](they|xe)03:57, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Delete both as ambiguous, since the unambiguous titles exist. It's better than having an odd hatnote that points to an article that has a flag in its Infobox. Jay 💬17:12, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dab page. While I don't like it, I think a dab page at the target would be the best solution. There is no one target inMario Party where a link can go to, as that article is not sorted by console. The nom is right though, that having this link to one specific game is not ideal.Gonnym (talk)11:24, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Retarget toMario Party#Super Mario Party (2018), where Super Mario Party and Jamboree are both discussed in succession. Most people using this search term are looking for the first Mario Party to be released on the Switch, and if not, Jamboree (and Superstars) information is just below.Utopes(talk /cont)00:19, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Just want to point out that I think it should fit the logic of the Mario Party 64 page, i.e. a page letting one choose between any of the 3DS Mario Party games.ButterCashier (talk)22:08, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Do not keep, do not delete perTavix's comments. I have no opinion about disambiguation vs. retargeting anymore, but it's rather apparent that the current target is probably not helpful and that deletion benefits no one.Steel1943 (talk)18:48, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Disambiguate. There's a general presumption that redirects are useful to at least the creator, and disambiguating is less disruptive than deleting.Jruderman (talk)06:49, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
1 minute on Google finds plenty of evidence of the county being referred as "Washington, Maryland" (e.g.[1],[2],[3]), hits for Fort Washington are harder to find[4] is ambiguous, but other results are getting swamped by collactions and hits forMary L. Washington (a Maryland politician).Thryduulf (talk)13:54, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what's more impressive, the fact that your search only took one minute(!), or the fact that you thought those fringe database sources would be convincing. The Tweet isn't ambiguous, it's saying that theGovernor of Maryland was speaking to reporters inWashington, DC. --Tavix(talk)14:03, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The nature of the sources is irrelevant - they demonstrate clearly that "Washington County, Maryland" is sometimes referred to as "Washington, Maryland".Thryduulf (talk)14:05, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You do seem confused. I didnot suggest a target toWashington, D.C. but toWashington metropolitan area. Per the article (my emphasis added):TheWashington metropolitan area...includes all of Washington, D.C. and parts ofMaryland... This redirect would be for the "Maryland part of Washington". --Tavix(talk)13:29, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Keep Today I see both "Washington, MD" and "Marlboro, MD" listed by the Google Voice app, so "no one refers..." simply isn't correct. There's a redirect forWashington, Maryland - that was really useful. There is no redirect forMarlboro, Maryland - that was a complete PITA. Keep the redirect, add another toMarlboro, Maryland. Retargeting toloosely defined urban space is utterly useless. The redirect takes people who have no idea where these boroughs are to the appropriate WP article.Yappy2bhere (talk)18:26, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Disambiguate: There is not a clear answer as to which page this should point to... which is what disambiguation is for.CFA💬23:14, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
