• Keep, orretartget toRecurring_in-jokes_in_Private_Eye#Names intentionally misspelled or misstated. The redirect is to the sectionPiers Morgan#Ian Hislop with this text and reliable source quoting from the horse's mouth:

Hislop also revealed that Morgan had attempted to quell the feud in an article inThe Mail On Sunday, saying, "The war is over. I'm officially calling an end to hostilities, at least from my end. I'm sure it won't stop him carrying on his 'Piers Moron' stuff."^{[pm 1]}

• Hmmm, that being said, it's^{[failed verification]} in theIndie article, the quote from theMoS. The Indiedoes say:

...Hislop's frequent attacks on "Piers Moron" in Private Eye provoked Morgan to retaliate with The Mirror's Gnomegate...

However, this biography also quotes it (and plenty of other sources on the Internet):
