JLaTondre01:32, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]Created byUser:Mac Lover andUser:Flameviper, these redirects are a unilateral addition of another pseudo-namespace with no discussion. If we allow these to exist, there's no reason to think that we won't end up having thousands of these pages, at least one for each user who wants one, and then arguments over who should get what abbreviation and what user is more notable in the community. This is not a good idea, and a borderline R2 to boot. --Rory09618:43, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

02:53, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]Cross-namespace-redirect from articlespace. By random coincidence, this redirect is very similar to a concrete example of when we should delete redirects (see number 5.)Picaroon928800:09, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete as a cross-namespace redirect. --Rbraunwa01:49, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Speedy Delete as basically and amusingly identical to the example. -Toptomcat03:25, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- delete per above.Dar-Ape03:32, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- Speedy delete. Obvious joke. ---RockMFR00:00, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: At 18:59, 30 October 2006, this discussion was prematurely closed. No speedy-deletion criterion was cited. This did not meet any of the deliberately narrow speedy-deletion criteria. The page has been restored in order to allow discussion to resume.Rossami(talk)19:53, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. Given the number of legitimate uses of this redirect being made on Talk and User pages and the number of times that this has been independently recreated, I find no evidence that this was an "obvious joke" - particularly since versions of it predated the comment in the instructions. On the contrary, the uses showing via "what links here" convinces me that this is a well-used redirect with very little possibility of confusion.Rossami(talk)19:53, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- There are less than 50 uses. Of those, 3 are from articles. Article links should not send a reader to Wikipedia space. That is a prime example of the "plumbing" argument raised in the past. -- JLaTondre20:52, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete per all the above. At best, turn it into a dab page with allthese. -- JLaTondre20:52, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete as CNR. --SilverStar★18:45, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete and protect. How many times will we go through this notability mainspace->essay redirect? As an alternative, turn into dab page.CP/Mcomm |Wikipedia Neutrality Project|09:55, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
