Anyautoconfirmed user can move a page using the"Move" option in theediting toolbar; seehow to move a page for more information. If you have no reason to expect a dispute concerning a move,be bold and move the page. However, it may not always be possible or desirable to do this:
Technical reasons may prevent a move; for example, a page may already exist at the target title and require deletion, or the page may beprotected from moves. In such cases, see§ Requesting technical moves.
Requests to revert recent, undiscussed, controversial moves may be made atWP:RM/TR. If the new name has not become the stable title, the undiscussed move will be reverted. If the new name has become the stable title, a requested move will be needed to determine the article's proper location.
A pageshould not be moved and a new move discussion should not be opened when there is already an open move request on a talk page. Instead, please participate in the open discussion.
Unregistered and new (not yetautoconfirmed) users are unable to move pages.
Requests are typically processed after seven days. If consensus supports the move at or after this time, a reviewer will perform it. If there is a consensus not to move the page, the request will be closed as "not moved." When consensus remains unclear, the request may be relisted to allow more time, or closed as "no consensus". Wikipedia:Move review can be used to contest the outcome of a move requestas long as all steps are followed. Thehttps://www.hawaii.edu/ website just says "University of Hawaiʻi". So does the seal of the institution. A few places seem to include "System", but it is deemphasized – e.g. in smaller font. The "About" page is titled "About the University of Hawaiʻi". I suspect the common name does not include "System". Regardless of whether the subject is Indian or not,MOS:INITS says to include the punctuation marks. Unless there is overwhelming evidence that independent reliable sources do not include dots for this subject, I would support this move per the Wikipedia Manual of Style. What this page does cover is not a singular government, but the history of Cuba from 1902 to 1958, which is commonly referred to as the "Republican period". Considering what this page represents is a historical period, and not necessarily a government, the title should reflect that. Wikipedia does not commonly title historical periods by government (especially historical periods with various government changes), for instance, the page for theShōwa era in Japan is not called "Japan (1926-1989)", or "Empire of Japan (1926-1989)". A major issue that has come up is the issue of date ranges in tornado outbreaks, and whether we should be labeling them on our accord or following what the NCEI has defined the outbreak as. This came to me after@Wxtrackercody: on the aforementioned talk page mentioned that: "Debate about the meteorology aside, we need to also keep in mind the time element. There's no official definition of a tornado outbreak, which makes titling these articles very subjective. Most modern definitions of a tornado outbreak require at least 6 tornadoes with a gap no longer than 6-9 hours between them. If we apply that definition, the CA tornado should not be included. Generally speaking, I'd be inclined to lean toward a stricter definition of what we define as a tornado outbreak on Wikipedia. It would help cut down on the continuous tornado outbreak sequence titles we have to deal with in May/June (for instance, last year we have an outbreak sequence of May 19-27, whereas NCEI defines two different outbreaks on May 18-22 and May 25-26)." Specifically, some of the outbreak pages include dates that are included almost onWP:SYNTH grounds, based on the flimsy aspect of one tornado occurring on that date well separated from the rest of the outbreak (seen with the most recent outbreak). Meanwhile, on the NCEI database, some of the dates are different, and in some cases, split up with regards to sequences (2019 and 2024 most prominently). As such, I propose that the listed articles be moved to correct their dates to the official NCEI database to adhere to a more strict definition, as well as reducing the amount of sequence pages we have when NOAA themselves consider them seperate outbreaks with only flimsy weak tornadoes in between. For the last case of the most recent outbreak, since it is not on NCEI yet, March 14-16 is the most common name (and what I'm suspecting will eventually be on the list later this year but we'll cross that bridge when we get there), seeing as how both social media andmanydifferentsourceshave referred to the event as starting on Friday the 14th and March 14-16, with no mention of the California tornado on the 13th (which falls under the previous rationale above and has hardly been mentioned, despite being part of the same system. The last RM was rejected for no particular reason, no policy was invoked against WP:COMMONNAME that I argued applied here, I will argue more elaborately my RM now and ask for any opposing users to base their rationale on Wikipedia policies. "Țara Bârsei" is the Romanian name for an originally German ethnographic region today in Romania. "Țara Bârsei" is overall more common than "Burzenland" (the German name) in English-language sources in Google Scholar, it has577 results vs.477 results for Burzenland. We can see that the Romanian name has sharply increased in use in the past, showcasing a shift in academia: only19 English-language sources from before 2000 use Țara Bârsei, vs.89 for Burzenland, the ratio became 1:2 in 2010 (79 vs.151), Burzenland was surpassed in 2019 (353 vs.347), and more than double of sources since 2023 have used Țara Bârsei (75) compared to Burzenland (35), completely reversing the situation. Not only is Țara Bârsei overall more common, it has never been used as widely as today in English. Romanians form today an ethnic majority everywhere in the region (based on the #Towns section of the article) except forApața, where they are a plurality. Having quickly checked all settlements listed there, I don't think I saw a single one where Germans reached even 2% of the population (the German population of Romania has decreased very sharply, from 786,000 in 1939 to 22,907 in 2022, info on why here[120][121]). The region is named after a tributary located fully in Romania, the article of which uses its Romanian name:Bârsa (Olt) (Burzen in German). Opposers of the previous RM stated that this article's topic mostly covers the historical moment when this region still had a German majority, but the name of Țara Bârsei sees widespread modern use (e.g. a local magazine that had published as recently as December 2023[122], a 2024–2027 development project co-funded by the EU[123], a 2025 cultural event[124] or really just rather regular local news[125][126][127][128]). Țara Bârsei is more common both by English-language academia and by the native population, which has not abandoned the name, and it also follows the language of the namesake tributary it is named after.
