The group normally meet in the Programme Rooms located on the ground floor of the National Library just behind the main reception area. Group to ensure that the room is left how we found it including table and chair locations.

Round table for participants to say what you’re working on
Stitchbird2 (talk) I attended both of thetwo editathons about Te Maori at Te Papa mentioned above. I enjoyed adding information on birth/death dates, iwi affiliation, and other information about contemporary Māori artists to their Wikidata items and Wikipedia pages (if they had one), for exampleElizabeth Ellis. I also attendedAvocadobabygirl's Te Papa staff session onWomen in Red, creating the article on NZ botanistMargaret J.A. Simpson. Together withUser:Ambrosia10 andUser:Noracrentiss we have successfully run day 1 of the [NZ species edit-a-thon] held at Ōtari Wilton's Bush on 19 October, with day 2 coming up next Saturday (all welcome). We were 15 people, and an even mix of experienced vs new editors, and it was a brilliant day. Since 15 Sept I've created 3 new pages in English forOurisia microphylla,Ourisia serpyllifolia andOurisia polyantha, and as these are South American species, I have used the translation tool to translate them into Spanish, e.g. [Ourisia microphylla].
Ambrosia10 (talk)18:03, 25 October 2024 (UTC) attended the two Te Maori editathons and enjoyed them immensely. I learned a lot about the impact of that exhibit and had a great time adding content to articles outside my normal editing sphere. I encourage other editors to take advantage of these events when they can as it is always an opportunity to learn more. AsStitchbird2 has summarised our first New Zealand species editathon went really well and we are well on our way to organising the second event. We recently held the monthly meeting for the BHL-Wiki working group where we got an update on the Internet Archive issues. IA is now again online and as a result so is BHL. I'll update the GLAMwiki newsletter with the meeting highlights. I've been busy with my normal set of projects with progress being made on the Women Genera analysis of data paper, the International Botanical Congress/Annals of Botany paper as well as the paper I'm co-writing for the Hidden Figures CURE. The Bionomia module of that CURE is now in its final stages of being published with it being uploaded to the site and co-authors just giving their final approvals. We're received feedback on the Wikidata module and are now working our way through that feedback before sending it back to the publishers. The end of this project is in sight! I've also been working hard on my Open Education Global keynote with the slides and script being in the final polishing stage. As for editing I've been working on my normal Wikidata mix'n'match datasets, my list of botanists from the International Botanical Congress, creating and enriching articles as well as working on the new book out A guide to the butterflies & moths of Aotearoa New Zealand.[reply]
Einebillion (talk) Attended one of the Te Maori edit-a-thons and the first of the Species edit-a-thon and I worked on topic items. Working mainly on the New Zealand women photographers dataset from Te Papa and adding to it in Wikidata. Have asked Auckland Libraries to release the dataset of photographers and they have declined. Will try again in 12 months. On the President front I've been talking with Creative Waikato and Manutū Taonga making connections. We've also hired our Mar/Comms coordinator, Sophie Sparrow. She starts on Tuesday.
I also discussed the copyright clause I have in my will waiving ownership in all my creative works. The clause is:

Enjoyed recent edit-a-thons Te Māori and Species at Ōtari.

Wikimedia Commons structured data - depicts statement. A new script has been created byTiagoLubiana to help those adding depicts statements to Wikimedia commons files. You install it to you Wikimedia Commons common.js page. See Ambrosia10's common.js pagehere. You add the following line to your common.js page:

This then installs an on/off box for the tool when you are in a Wikimedia Commons category and when the tool is switched on it will show either a green or red dot beneath each file in a particular category showing you which files have depicts statements.
