The scope of WikiProject Geology is all articles in theCategory:Geology. Our particular interests are core Geology concepts and issues related to Geology articles. We acknowledge and are grateful for the efforts of other projects dealing with specific areas of geology, such asWikipedia:WikiProject Volcanoes, and will focus this project's attention primarily on those articles which do not fall within the scope of any of these related projects.

Particular goals:

• Bring every Geology article as close toFeatured Article orFeatured List status as possible:

• Make sure all articles are properlyreferenced.
• Maximize compliance with theWikipedia manual of style.
• Clean uptagged articles.

• Organizecategories at every level ofCategory:Geology (see thecategory tree).
• Keep theEarth sciences portal in good shape.
• Keep the WikiProject Geology community active, growing, and well-supported.
• Discuss the content of Geology articles on Wikipedia and the direction that WikiProject Geology should take (seetalk page).
• Add relevant articles to the project (seeCandidates for inclusion)
