Comment: essentially, this is the same category as theCategory:Salon holders from the Russian Empire, and all articles in the later category, can be placed in the former. The only reason there are two categories, is because one user dislike "Russian" and believe it is more correct to use the term "Russian Empire" - and personally, I don't know which category name is most correct. Perhaps Category:Russian salon-holders should be a subcategory of the Category:Salon holders from the Russian Empire and not the other way around, I don't know. But essentially: these two categories are the same category.--Aciram (talk)22:15, 18 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Comment, I'm not seeing an issue with categories with one entry, nor am I seeing a note that these categories ought to be deleted. My challenge is this: if this category gets deleted, if another page is made in the future that could fit in this category, the page would keep getting deleted or wouldn't be recreated unless somebody happens to make the connection randomly. It affects not just this page, but many others. And I don't see why these categories are less important if they have 1 entry vs 2 or 3, or 50.Ortizesp (talk)05:07, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
They are unhelpful for navigation with only one person. If you want to present having to have to recreate the category, just add multiple people. And as you can see from your talk page, it is easy for a single person to be removed, with triggers a set of events that wastes community time. Please just populate the categories you make.SMasonGarrison16:38, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see why they're unhelpful. If I want to see Surinamese people of Jamaican descent, and there's only one page so be it. The empty categories on my talkpage mostly happen when the individual pages are deleted.Ortizesp (talk)18:46, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
