Whitesville is anunincorporated community inSussex County,Delaware, United States. Whitesville is located just north of the stateline withMaryland.[2][3] betweenDelmar andSelbyville.[4] Local folklore ascribes the name to Ezekiel Williams, who built the first house in the village.[5] It is the site of the Line United Methodist Church.[6]
Commencing at the Delaware and Maryland line at a point on the county road leading from Bethel Church to Whitesville, Delaware, about two hundred yards west of the residence where Enoch Truitt now resides;
Williamsville was named for Ezekiel Williams. He owned the only house in the village at the time. A steam mill was erected and later a store. Later on a post office was put into the store.
