Chhatra Parishad, popularly known as "CP", is the student wing ofIndian National Congress, a majorpolitical party ofIndia. It is theWest Bengal wing ofNational Students Union of India (NSUI)[1]
CP is one of the majorstudent organizations inWest Bengal, where it has wonstudent union election in many colleges.
West Bengal Chhatra Parishad (also known as Chhatra Parishad and West Bengal State Chhatra Parishad and abbreviated as CP) affiliated to NSUI is the students wing ofIndian National Congress in the state ofWest Bengal. It was formed on 28 August 1954 inKolkata under the guidance ofAtulya Ghosh andBidhan Chandra Ray.[2]
Chhatra Parishad is one of the main student organization in West Bengal. CP proposes the idea ofstudent activism based on progressive thought, secular vision and democratic action.
A flag with a tri-colour (saffron, white and green) horizontally in the left corner, on a white background and "Advancement of Learning", "Corporate Life" and "Patriotism" written one beneath the other in blue; the ratio of length and breadth of the flag being 3:2.
