39°29′36″N105°5′18″W / 39.49333°N 105.08833°W /39.49333; -105.08833Waterton, Colorado is a populated place located along theSouth Platte River inPlatte Canyon (also known as Waterton Canyon[1]) ofJefferson County, Colorado.[2] Cañon Spur in Waterton was aDenver, South Park and Pacific Railroad (DSP&P) station. It was a settlement named Enterprise, with a post office from 1879 to 1881. Its name was changed to Platte Cañon, legally changed to Watertown in 1916, and is now known as Waterton. It is located nearKassler, another DSP&P station, established in 1872.[1][3]
