Warren Ellis is a Britishcomic book writer ,novelist , andscreenwriter , best known as the co-creator of several original comic book series such asTransmetropolitan ,Global Frequency , andRed , the latter of which was adapted into the 2010 feature filmRed and its 2013 sequelRed 2 . A prolific comic book writer, he has written severalMarvel series, includingAstonishing X-Men ,Thunderbolts ,Moon Knight , and the "Extremis " story arc ofIron Man , which was the basis for the 2013 filmIron Man 3 . Ellis' other credits includeThe Authority andPlanetary , both of which he co-created forWildstorm , as well as runs onHellblazer forVertigo andJames Bond forDynamite . In addition to his comics work, Ellis wrote two prose novels,Crooked Little Vein andGun Machine , as well as numerous short stories and novellas.
