War (also known asWaar orWar-Jaintia)[3] is anAustroasiatic language in theKhasic branch spoken by about 16,000 people inBangladesh and 51,000 people inIndia.[4]

It is not to be confused with Khasi War, aKhasi dialect spoken by the closely related War-Khyriam.[5]
