In June 1988, the Wanderers appeared in a self-titled series written byDoug Moench, which ran for thirteen issues. Original artistSteve Dillon redesigned the characters, but was replaced byDave Hoover and Robert Campanella, who redesigned them again.[5] In this series, all the Wanderers were killed then recreated by Clonus, theirController mentor, with upgraded powers and drastically different bodies.
