TheWake Forest Demon Deacons track and field team is thetrack and field program that representsWake Forest University. The Demon Deacons compete inNCAA Division I as a member of theAtlantic Coast Conference. The team is based inWinston-Salem, North Carolina at theKentner Stadium.[2]
The program is coached byJohn Hayes.[3] The track and field program officially encompasses four teams because the NCAA considers men's and women's indoor track and field and outdoor track and field as separate sports.[4]
Andy Bloom is the only multiple-time NCAA champion for Wake Forest, in both theshot put anddiscus throw at the1996 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.[5]
As of 2024[update], a total of 10 men and 13 women have achieved individual first-teamAll-American status at the Division Imen's outdoor,women's outdoor,men's indoor, orwomen's indoor national championships (using the modern criteria of top-8 placing regardless of athlete nationality).[6][7]
