Wahlstedt (German pronunciation:[ˈvaːlˌʃtɛt]ⓘ) is a town in thedistrict ofSegeberg inSchleswig-Holstein,Germany.
The town lies about 50 km north ofHamburg, 40 km south ofKiel and 30 km west ofLübeck. It is about seven kilometers west ofBad Segeberg on the edge of the Segeberg Forest.
After the 2003 election, the 19 seats of the Wahlstedt city council are filled by nineCDU members, eightSPD members, and twoFDP members.
The headquarters of German confectionery retailerHussel is in Wahlstedt.
