The station operates under the brandingThe BIG Talker insimulcast withLake City–licensedWDSR (1340 AM).[2] The station is owned by Southern Stone Communications as part of a conglomerate with Live Oak–licensedcountry music stationWQHL-FM (98.1FM), Live Oak–licensedsports radio stationWJZS (106.1 FM), andFive Points–licensedhot adult contemporary stationWCJX (106.5 FM); WQHL is also sister to WDSR and Lake City–licensedclassic hits stationWNFB (94.3 FM) under alocal marketing agreement with their owner Newman Media, Inc.

History

WQHL went on the air asWNER in 1949. In 1953, the station was purchased by Norm Protsman. He would later purchaseWQHL-FM (98.1 FM). In 1988, Protsman sold the two stations to Day Communications.[3]

In 2013, the WQHL stations were sold by Black Crow Media Group to Southern Stone Communications.[4]

WDSR/WQHL currently featuresyndicated programming fromPremiere Networks, includingThe Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show andThe Sean Hannity Show.[5][6] The station also airs news programming fromFox News Radio.
