By day, WPTB is powered at 1,000wattsnon-directional. But to protect other stations on850 AM from interference, at night the power is reduced to 25 watts. Programming is heard around the clock on 240-wattFM translatorW259CH at 99.7MHz.
The station went on the air as WPTB on 1976-04-05. On 2004-05-17, the station changed itscall sign to WMCD. On 2004-07-08, the station changed itscall sign back to the original WPTB.[3]
