The station signed-on in 1976 with thecall sign WACM. Originally licensed toFreeland, Pennsylvania, the station aired a syndicatedTop 40/Soft Rock radio format with some local news. From the late 1980s and into the early 1990s, the station switched to anoldies music format and was branded asOldies 103.[4]

The station's programming during this time period was simulcast on sister station WXPX (1300 AM). The simulcast relationship between the two stations continued to exist through 2023, even though both went through a number of call sign changes, format changes, ownership changes, and the 103.1MHzFM allocation being moved toAvoca.[5] The stations, now WILK-FM andWODS, both simulcast theWILK NewsRadio network until WODS moved to aSpanish tropical format in 2023.

On February 23, 2022, WILK-FM added The Bet to its HD2 subchannel.[6]
