WEGW (107.5MHz "Eagle 107.5") is acommercialFMradio station licensed toWheeling, West Virginia, and serving theWest Virginia Panhandle and parts ofOhio andPennsylvania. It has aclassic rockradio format and is owned and operated byiHeartMedia, Inc. On weekday mornings it carries thenationally syndicatedJohn Boy and Billy Show. The rest of the schedule isvoicetracked from Maria Malito andKen Dashow of co-ownedWAXQNew York City and Ron "Big Rig" Michaels fromWXTBTampa. On weekends, WEGW formerly carried auto races from theMotor Racing Network and thePerformance Racing Network.
WEGW has aneffective radiated power (ERP) of 16,000watts. Thetransmitter is on Kirkwood Heights Road inBridgeport, Ohio.[2]
The stationsigned on in October 1965; 60 years ago (1965-10). The originalcall sign was WTRF-FM. It was anetwork affiliate of theMutual Broadcasting System and played a variety of musical styles in its early days.
In 1984, it changed its call letters to WZMM and in 1989, it switched to its current call sign, WEGW.
