WCDL (1440AM) is aradio station licensed toCarbondale, Pennsylvania. The station operates with 5,000watts daytime and 37Watts nighttime with a non-directionalantenna. TheFederal Communications Commission considers WCDL a Class DAM broadcast station. Bold Gold Media Group is the current owner of WCDL.

History

The station flipped formats fromadult standards to a mix of Tropical andSpanish languageadult contemporary[2] format in August 2007[3] branded as "Caliente" (translation fromSpanish intoEnglish as "Hot") to serve the region's growingHispanic population.[4] Former sister stationWNAK, 730kHz, located inNanticoke, started simulcasting WCDL programming in October 2007.[2]

In late 2008 WCDL returned to theadult standards format,[5] simulcasting withWNAK 730kHz under the slogan "The Greatest Music of All Time".

As of 2011, WCDL was simulcasting withWICK andWYCK with sports as "The Game".

On March 8, 2020 WCDL changed their format from sports to oldies, branded as "The Mothership", simulcastingWICK 1400 AM Scranton.
