WCCF (1580kHz) is acommercialAMradio station broadcasting atalkradio format. It islicensed toPunta Gorda, Florida, and is owned byiHeartMedia, Inc. The studios and offices are on Tiseo Boulevard inPort Charlotte.

By day, WCCF is powered at 1,250 watts. As1580 AM is a Canadianclear channel frequency, WCCF reduces power at night to 110 watts to avoid interference. It uses anon-directional antenna at all times. Thetransmitter is off Deltona Drive inCharlotte Park.[2] Programming is also heard on 250-wattFM translatorW265EA at 100.9MHz.[3]

WCCF has one local program on weekdays,Charlotte County Speaks with Ken Lovejoy in late mornings. The rest of the schedule featuresnationally syndicated programs:The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show,The Dana Loesch Show,The Jesse Kelly Show,The Chad Benson Show,Coast to Coast AM withGeorge Noory andThis Morning, America's First News with Gordon Deal.

For live sports, WCCF carriesTampa Bay Buccaneersfootball andTampa Bay Raysbaseball games. Most hours begin with an update fromFox News Radio.

History

The stationsigned on the air on September 15, 1961.[4] It originally was adaytimer, required to go off the air at night. In the 1970s, WCCF was acountry music station. It carried news updates from theMutual Broadcasting System.

In 1970, it gained asister station. WCCF-FM debuted, airing abeautiful music format on 92.7MHz. Today, that station is a different talk outlet, 92.5WFSX-FM inEstero.
