WUMY (830kHz) is acommercialAMradio station broadcasting aChristianradio format. It is licensed toMemphis, Tennessee, and is owned by the Ministry Outreach Foundation, through licensee MOF-Christian Media I, LLC.

WUMY is adaytimer, powered at 3,000wattsnon-directional.[4] It broadcasts on theclear channel frequency of830 AM, reserved forClass AWCCOMinneapolis. To avoid interference, WUMY mustsign off at night. Programming is heard around the clock on 250 wattFM translatorW288BJ at 105.5MHz.

History

On September 24, 1947; 78 years ago (1947-09-24), the station firstsigned on the air. It was originally licensed toKennett, Missouri, and had thecall signKBOA.[1] In 2014, it took the call lettersWGUE.

On November 30, 2017, WGUE swapped call letters withsister stationWUMY. WGUE is now heard on1180 AM and WUMY moved to 830 AM.

Effective October 1, 2018, the station was sold to MOF-Christian Media, along with translator 105.5 W288BJ, for $706,823. It adopted a Spanish language Christian format.[5]

On May 31, 2024 MOR-Christian Media sold WUMY and translator 105.5 W288BJ to the Wilkins Radio Network for $460,000.[6] The following day, WUMY dropped its Spanish-language Christian format, changed the station language to English, and adopted aChristian talk and teaching format under the ownership of Wilkins.
