WAJR (1440kHz) is anews/talk/sports formattedbroadcastradio station licensed toMorgantown, West Virginia, servingNorth Central West Virginia.[1] WAJR is owned and operated byWVRC Media.[5]

For decades, WAJR was the flagship station forWest Virginia Mountaineers football and basketball. However, that role has since been taken on byWZST.

In addition to the main station at 1440kHz, WAJR is relayed by anFM translator to widen its broadcast area, especially at night when theAM station reduces power to 500watts. Translator W283CR is owned by Morgantown, West Virginia-basedWVRC Media.
